HOW TO ADD A EMOTICON TO MSN MESSENGER

• Choose a emoticon and save it to your harddisk
• Open MSN Messenger
• Open a chat-screen with one of your contacts
• Click on the yellow smiley button in the left-bottom corner of your chat screen
• Click on "My custom emoticons..."
• Click "Add" in the screen that pops up
• Click "Find Image" and browse to the directory where you saved your emoticon
• Double click the emoticon image file
• Type a shortcut what fits your personal taste
• Click OK
• That's it!

After following and completing these steps you can use the emoticon of your choice by typing the shortcut in the chat screen when chatting with your chatpartner.

HOW TO ADD A AVATAR TO MSN MESSENGER

• Choose a avatar and save it to your harddisk
• Open MSN Messenger
• Open a chat screen with one of your contacts
• Click on the picture in the bottom-right corner of your screen
• Click on the "Browse..." button in the screen that pops up
• Browse to the directory where you saved the avatar and double click the avatar image file
• Now the avatar is in the list of emoticons which you can choose as personal display picture
• Select the new avatar and click OK
• That's it!
